What is the most over used film clip? I think one that rates right up there is the three Dauntless dive bombers, just starting their dives and releasing there bombs. Almost always followed by the shot of the Arizona blowing up. Last night I watched From Here to Eternity and they showed it not once, but twice, though without the Arizona clip. Any other nominations?

That would have been my choice, with special demerit for also being mis-used.
I award it the "Ben-gay in the skivvies of the week award."

Nah, by far the most over used clips are the dog fighting scenes from Top Gun.

Have you ever realised that so many of the clips of jets exploding in JAG are the same scenes, often just flipped?

Heaps of other serials have used them as well.

Guess JAG hasn't changed. I saw parts of two or three shows the firts season. One used tha ambush scene from Clear and Present Danger or at least one of the Harrison FOrd as Jack Ryan movies (RPG's vs. SUV's in the alley), another used a clip of an ejection seat test with an A-10 and claimed it was an F/A-18 and the third had an F-16, playing some MiG "landing" on a carrier. The call number kept reversing itself.

I have refused to watch it since.

I've seen lots of movies steal from Tora-Tora-Tora. Another favorite clip to show is the Hellcat crashing on the deck of the carrier. And the Japanese planes getting shot down and exploding in the water. Almost every WW2 era airwar movie uses that one. Anybody remember Baa Baa Blacksheep? They must have used that one three or four times per episode

I would have to agree with you on the Arizona clip, it seems that every ww2 show on the history channel has that clip.

Like balster76, I too remember the old Baa Baa Blacksheep t.v. show. They did use the same dog fight footage over and over. However I did really like the show when it was on. Some channels still air it now and again.
