Let's drag this old debate out. It's close to 40 yrs old by now. Most everyone should be familiar with Gilligan's Island. So who would you pick, Ginger or Mary Ann? (Ladies you can start your own thread). Me, I have always loved Mary Ann.

Mary Ann, in the tight denin shorts and poka dot halter top. Ginger was sexy and she knew it, Mary Ann was sexy and she didn't know it which makes her even more sexy.

Maryann did it for me, much like Jan Smithers as Bailey Quarters in [i] WKRP in Cincinatti[/url] was more approcahbly sexy thean Loni Anderson's character. Because they weren't as glamourous as their counterparts, they'd be more flattered by the attention.

You've got that right AJ. I have always thought that WKRP was the greatest sitcom ever done and I too prefered Baily. Wonder whatever happened with Jan Smithers and Dawn Wells. Loni and Tina you here about once in a while. Saw Tina the other night at the CBS 25th show she still looks good and Loni....welll

Like Blaster said, this has been going on for many a year. So... I just had to do a search and see what I could find. Boy, there's a zillion sites out there debating the same thing. Among them all, this was one of the better "notes" I found:

Thanks Kencelot for posting that pic. A lot of our NON North American friends may not be famiiar with the debte. Mary Ann is the brunette in the Yelow bikini Ginger the Redhead in the white. In the show they NEVER wore bikinis. Ginger almost always wore long Movie star gowns and Mary Annshorts and a red gingham shirt. Ginger ws a sexy sultry movie star and Mary Ann a farm girl from Kanasas. For years the debate was which would you prefer. I think Mary Ann has always been the clear cut winner. The real joke on the show was..stranded for umpteen years on a desert island and the two never turned up preggers.

I can't remember the actresses name, but when she was Batgirl she looked WOW ZOW. Who can forget Julie Newmar as Cat-woman

The actress who played BatGirl was Yvonne Craig; Quite a looker in the tights and cape, and don't forget she was also Police Commisioner Gordon's daughter on the series too...

My vote would have to be for Mary Ann. :-)
