Hi everyone,

My name's Simon Williams and I'm frrom County Durham in England. I've been back in the hobby for about 11 months now, after about a 15-year layoff. Right now, I'm mainly making 1/48th scale aircraft (no particular period, just anything that catches my eye in the shop or on Hannants site) with the occasional 1/35th tank aor fugure just for variety. I've been looking at the site and reading the forums for a few days now and I just thought I'd say hello to everyone

Welcome Simon. You have finally made it here. I must warn you that this place is very addictive and we will have you build AFV's before it's over :-) If you have any photos of your planes please post them. As Kencelot says ask away and we will try to help answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for the nice welcome I think I'm moving back toward AFVs anyway, as that was all I used to make back in my teens and twenties (think I must have built most of the Tamiya catalogue lol). Unfortunately, they were all lost in a bizarre wardrobe-moving accident in the early 90s and I rather lost heart. My interest was re-kindled by purcahsing a Tamiya Model Magazine and discovering a model shop just outside Chester-Le-Street. First kit I bought from there was the Tamiya Dodge truck, then I discovered Hannants site. I'll post piccies when I can tear myself away from the dining room table (my model workshop).

Welcome aboard Simon. Hope you have a great time with us. Glad yourather spend more time building than posting. I've been slowly weening myself off this site, it gets real addictive when you start looking at all the posts in all the categories. Stay out of the junkdrawer, History club and TV/Movie group or you'll never have time

Thank you once again for the great welcome . I have looked at the TV/Movie group and can understand how you could lose hours in there. As fot the drugs, smoking and alcohol, well I've never smoked, don't use any dugs apart from Methotrexate for my psoriasis but I do like a nice beer after I've finished a modelling session.
