I am looking for a movie that I saw years ago and I can't remember the name of it. Briefly, a young spoiled rich kid falls off of his father's yacht and is rescued by a fishing boat. The boy is taken under the wing of a crewmember and taught to be a man. The crewmember gets killed in an accident. Does anyone know the name of this movie?

That's Captains Courageous. The original had Spencer Tracy as the crewmember who taught the kid. I'm pretty sure it's been remade a few times so I don't know what version you might have seen.

I do believe that I saw the original, it was B&W. Thanks for the info.
