my name is sgt. gutierez,joe. i am a united states marine. i have been in the corps for 8 years now getting ready for another 4 years. i forught with 2nd bn 5th marines which was attached to b co. 2nd tank bn. i frought all the way to baghdad and 150 miles past baghdad. my mos is 1833 aav crewman. during the war i was the section leader of 3 avv's that carried 81mm mortars(wpns co. 2/5). i returned back to the u.s. on may 30. i am married to my lovely wife linda and have 3 kids. 2 boys 1 girl. they are a hand full. so much respect to my wife for dealing with them during my absence. i have been modeling since i was 8 years old. my father turned me on to the hobby. right now on my work bench i have a 1/32 tamiya f-14 1994 version. i just finshed the cockpit by using teknics f-14d cockpit set. now im waiting on the teknics f-14 airframe conversion kit. once its complete i plan on entering it at the tamiyacon next year. this will be my first entry into a contest. if anyone has question about the aavp7a1, aavc7a1, or the aavr7a1 feel free to drop me a line at [email protected]. thanks. semper fi

Welcome to the club. I for one want to thank you for your service to the country. I served in the late 70' and 80's (Army-Armor) NIce to know that the torch continues on. Good luck at the Tamiya-con. You might want to check out some local and regional shows and get a feel what the competition is like and what jdges look for. It can be very sobering
