@ 0900 repeats @ 1500 Sworn to Secrecy
Psychological Warfare

The soldiers who employ "Psy Ops" use every means available to destroy the will of the enemy to resist. Charlton Heston narrates this look at the secret tools and techniques of wartime "persuasion". TV G

@ 1000 repeats @ 1600 Great Blunders in History
Kasserine Pass

U.S. troops arriving in Tunisia for their first campaign of WWII were certain that, with their resources and equipment, they would quickly show the German Afrika Korps who the new masters were. Unfortunately, Field Marshal Rommel and his battle-hardened veterans hadn't read the new script! TV G

@ 2000 repeats @ 0000 Merrill's Marauders
The provisional infantry regiment known to history as "Merrill's Marauders" took its name from its commander, Brigadier General Frank D. Merrill. This team of 2,400 commandos, code-name "Galahad", fought the Japanese in Burma without support of tanks or heavy artillery, battling through 1,000 miles of almost impenetrable jungle. No other U.S. force in WWII marched as far, fought as continuously, or had to display such endurance as these swift-moving, hard-hitting foot soldiers. TV PG

@ 2100 repeats @ 0100 Battle History of the U.S. Army
Sword of Freedom

Investigates how American armed forces fared when thrust into foreign territory--from the Army's entry into overseas warfare as it battled unprepared through the Spanish-American War, the First World War, and the disastrous opening days of WWII. We see how the Army found its giants in MacArthur, Eisenhower, and Patton. Made in cooperation with the U.S. Army, with access to their historians and battle archives, which are the oldest and most extensive of all of our armed services. TV G

@ 2200 repeats @ 0200 Sherman Tanks
From the D-Day beaches to the crushing defeat of the German Army in France, the U.S. M-4 Sherman tank fought in some of the bloodiest battles of WWII. This is the dramatic story of America's triumphant industrial mobilization and the manufacture of a tank that would blast its way into history and pave the way for the liberation of Europe. Miniature cameras provide an inside look at the horrifying reality of being inside a Sherman tank in combat and under fire. TV G

@ 2300 repeats @ 0300 The True Story of the Fighting Sullivans
On Friday, November 13, 1942, all five Sullivan brothers from Iowa were serving aboard the U.S.S. Juneau when a Japanese torpedo hit. 400 sailors died instantly; 150 or so bobbed helplessly in shark-infested water. When rescue forces finally arrived, only 10 survived--none were named Sullivan. Could their deaths have been avoided? TV G

the show re-inforced my opinion that the sherman was junk 'til the Israelis got ahold of it, the m51 isheman was the best variant of it. just my opinion.

Hey chief, shoot me a PM with your address and I will send you a copy. I only got about 45 minutes of the Merrill's Marauders, but all the Sherman tank show. If want to wait till after Sat. May 11, the History channel will have a show on the T-34 tank. Just let me know.

Mechanically, the Sherman was tough to beat, same for the turret controls. Of course the armor and main gun were lacking. The fact that they lasted long enough for the Israelis to up gun them like they did is testament to their reliability.
