Thanks for the welcome Gunnie! I believe I ran into you over on Tanknet last week?

Yep - that was me. Happy to have 'ya here. Enjoy Armorama - there's quite a bit here to look into and participate in. Watch out for those piggies though - they can sweep you away...

If we ever get a plan together, I'm definitely game for meeting up with you MA guys for some brews and tall stories. Heck if there are any wargame types, I'd be up for that too!

I'm always inviting the guys here to stop by my work. I command the Regional Training Site at the former Fort Devens (Moore) Army Airfield. My AMPS group will have their July meeting at my site on Saturday the 19th from 10:00-2:00.

Although we aren't a museum, I've got some equipment that more appropriately belongs in a museum than at a maintenance school. If you click on the "Gallery" link, it will take you to my motor pool so you can see the junk I have.

Al, you can tell your guys that they are welcome to attempt the journey to visit on that day. If I get enough real armor crewmen to show, I may start up one of the A1s.

I still hold my 19K MOS, there were a good chance of being able to start one of those babies up, I'd be more than happy to make the time to drag my lazy butt down there. You think I could take it for a spin too sir?

I haven't seen the M1's there though, where are they? I'm familiar with the range areas and Turner drop zone area of Devens as well as the former Main Post area, but I'm not sure where the old airfield is? Would I come in Jackson Gate? Barnum?

Man, this place is chock full o' Massachusettians... I'm from Indiana myself but I thought I would say welcome aboard and have a great time, anyway. Not much of interest around here unless you are really into soybeans and corn...

Shouldn't be a problem. I've got a couple of A1s and 2 IPs.

Neither, my maintenance site is located north of the old main post on the airfield (Rte 2A in Ayer heading towards Lunenburg). Visitors tend to think that the National Guard site on Barnum Road is it, but it is not.

From the Ayer traffic circle, follow the Rte 2A/111 signs through downtown Ayer and hang a right once you clear the downtown area. Stay on Rte 2A as it bears to the left by a restaurant called "Tiny's", past the grocery store (Victory Market?), across the railroad tracks and then take the first left through the gate. My building is the big 2-story one with a large banner hanging off of it. It's right next to a large aircraft hanger, can't miss it.

Thanks Genna, it's good to see some familiar faces over here! Where is Jacques? Does he go by the same screen name over here?

I'm sure I'll like it here, I really am enjoying it here so far, but it will take me a long time to build up to 5,000+ posts like I have over at Tanknet....... :-)

Great to have you aboard.....with a complete resume. This is the best site for military modelling. Have you been involve in any military campaign with your M1A1 Abrams? Anyway it is good experience to be in one of them.
Well I have a solution to clear your backlog...............you can send them to me ,he-he-he :-)

If by military campaign you mean combat, then, no, I have no combat experience (and consider myself fortunate in that respect). I have done plenty of training and gunnery on the tank however.
