I've finally decided to get back into modelling after a 5 year absence.. After having moved to a 1 bedroom apartment, school, and work my favorite hobby took a backseat and then just became a memory.. I dont even know where all my tools or unbuilt kits are anymore. =)
Well I just cant take it anymore.. So I've finally gotten off my lazy butt and decided to get back to it.. Im in the process of drawing up a spray booth design at the moment (living in a one bedroom can create a tough challenge to airbrush).
Im also shopping for a new airbrush and compressor.. I think I may be getting a Badger Cresendo and a Createx Stealth TC 5000.
But anyways.. just posting to say hiya.. and oh yah.. Im a fan of armor.. with maybe a WW2 fighter or bomber here and there. I love this site and well be visiting it every day to find new tricks or tips.. Im already printing out some of them.
My first build might be the new Tamiya T-55.. Yaye! I cant wait!

Hi there...
Welcome to the best site on the net... anyways I think so.. of all the modeling websites I have ever visited this one has the best Modeling Group support staff ever......thats all of us by the way. so enjoy.
As for the Airbrush.. The Badger 175 Cresendo is a Great Airbrush. I started teaching myself to airbrush origanaly with a aztek brush and about 6 months ago I got the Cresendo and my results improved greatly.. I use enamal paints and almost exclusivly use the fine tip for everything. I cannot say enough good things about it.
As for a spray booth I have a little webpage showing what I use and it is very cheap and takes up very little space as I also live in a apartment. So maybe it will give you a couple of ideas.
How to build a small spray booth on the cheap!

Let me also say welcome. This is a really great site, with lots of knowledgeable people who don't mind helping out "newbies" like me. (And others ;-) ). As to your airbrush, I have both the Crescendo, and the Aztek 470, and use them both interchangably. I love the ease of cleanup of the Aztek, (I use mostly acrylics) but the Crescendo isnt all that hard either. Check out Dixie Art Supply. They have a great selection of brushes and compressors, and are very inexpensive. They even have free shiping in the states. (No, I am not affiliated with then in any way, just a satisfied customer) Good luck and welcome back!

Welcome onboard Soldner. Here you'll find tons of knowledge, a wealth of patience form us and so far everybody is eager to help eachother with the knowledges that one has at that moment. Search the site and ask questions like crazy. I joined the site in March and already did learn a lot of things. Have fun and happy modelling.

LOL, Patrick...let me see if I follow the logic:
backseat hobbies, submarine races, WWII connotations = modeling. Okay, I think I have it; as long as my wife doesn't bring up the "brail scale" factor...
