:-) This afternoon I watched the Dambusters movie. Old, black and white it maybe, but just to see real Lancasters and to hear those merlins. :-) Makes me want to build a Squadron of Lancasters.

:-) I've been to the Sorpe Dam, while serving in Germany, when you see it you get in indication of what a feat of airmanship it was. :-)

I'm jealous of all you guys over across the pond. I live near the United States Air Force Academy and we get fly bys by all the modern birds and every once in a while I get to see some WWII warbirds. A couple of years ago we had a B17 and HE 111 fly over. I'd love to see a Lancaster or Spitfire fly over.

hey Arthur, which civil war were they reinacting? I've heard that the us's is very popular over there. I've seen a lot of WW2 aircraft, but never a Lancaster and to see one in flight must have been wonderful I live in Texas which if I'm not mistaken has the largest collection of flying vintageaircraft in the world seen a B-17, B24, and B-29 in flight

:-) Most air shows in the UK have the Battle of Britain Memorial flight taking part, you have seen and heard nothing until you have witnessed the Lanc, Spit and Hurri fly overhead in formation. The sight of these 3 aircraft together and the sound of 6 of those beautiful Merlins is the best sensation ever. Imagine if there was a Mossi as well, droooooool :-)
